Vivian is a Chinese-born cellist devoted to solo and chamber music, whose performances have taken her across the United States, Europe, and Asia. She is the founder and cellist of the JAVA Quartet, an ensemble dedicated to innovative and intimate chamber music experiences, which has actively performed throughout New York City. As a committed chamber musician and soloist, Vivian has participated in masterclasses with Inbal Segev, Blaise Déjardin, Simona Barbu, Dariusz Skoraczewski, and Gloria Lum. She currently serves as an Artist-in-Residence at the Catwalk Institute, where she continues to develop interdisciplinary and collaborative projects. Vivian is also an active arranger, with a growing catalogue of works that spotlight underrepresented composers, particularly women. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from Azusa Pacific University under the guidance of Marek Szpakiewicz, and recently completed her Master of Music degree at Mannes School of Music, where she studied with Yehuda Hanani and Joel Noyes.
