Violin, Viola

Victoria began playing violin at the age of 8 with the Mountain Top Strings of Big Bear Lake, California, under the direction of Sharon Rizzo. She has been teaching violin for about 7 years. She just graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance, where she studied with Dr. Alex Russell. She is staying at APU this fall for the Artist Certificate in violin performance to study with Yuki Mori and Min Jung Park. Victoria plans to go on to obtain her master’s degree in violin. She is excited to continue learning as much as she can as both a teacher and musician.Victoria has a passion for teaching violin to students. It is her goal to create the foundation that students need in order to improve, but more importantly to create an environment where the student can have fun and develop their own love for music through creativity.

Victoria has extensive music experience and knowledge from her years participating in orchestra and chamber groups. In the Summer of 2021, she attended the Masterworks music festival in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In the Summer of 2022, she attended the renowned Meadow mount School of Music in West port, New York, where she studied for 7 weeks with Northwestern University violin professor, Gerardo Ribeiro. This past summer, she attended the Master Works Festival again in Campbellsville, Kentucky. At these places, Victoria was able to learn a lot about her own playing as well as how to teach that to others. Victoria has other experience in addition to violin: she took voice lessons from Diane Sloane Kubeja and competed and performed all the way through her Junior year of high school. Victoria traveled throughout high school with Mountain Top Strings to Italy and New York to perform in various places, including Carnegie Hall. She has competed and placed in multiple local competitions in both Big Bear and San Bernardino, achieving first place in 2016 and 2017 in Big Bear Rotary and Solo fest competitions. Victoria has also had experience with recording on two CDs with the Mountain Top Strings. She also has had experience playing in a wide variety of environments, including for weddings, at churches, and for other community events. This past year, she participated in a music video produced by Machine Gun Kelly’s Production team.
