Violin, Viola, Piano
Ms. Doris brings over 27 years of teaching and performance experience. She teaches violin at all levels, as well as viola and piano for beginner through late-intermediate students. She is an active member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California and serves as a string adjudicator, supporting students’ musical growth through performance evaluation and feedback.
Ms. Doris completed advanced studies in violin performance and chamber music, training with highly respected educators and professional performers. Her musical education reflects a strong foundation in classical technique, ensemble performance, and musical interpretation.
As a performer, Ms. Doris has held principal and section roles with a variety of regional orchestras and has appeared in both orchestral and musical theater productions. She also maintains an active freelance career, performing as a violinist for weddings and special events in both solo and ensemble settings.
As an educator, Ms. Doris is passionate about building strong technical foundations while encouraging expressive and thoughtful musicianship. She finds great fulfillment in watching her students grow in confidence, skill, and musical understanding over time.
Outside of teaching and performing, Ms. Doris enjoys attending music, museum, and art events, exploring Thai, Italian, sushi, and Chinese cuisine, savoring a glass of Brut champagne, and spending time with her three beloved cats—Jiji, Charlie, and Max.
